Barns by Country Woodshed began in 1982.   Since then the company  has built over 287 barns of all types in El Paso and Elbert counties.  Many feature skylights, cupolas and weather vanes.  Wash racks, bathrooms, and even small apartments have been added.

The Peyton based company tailors pole-constructed barns to the needs of its customers.   Ninety percent have been  wood and the remainder are steel.  Some have been as large as 3,000 sq feet.  All have a lifetime guarantee!

  • Barns by Country Woodshed uses only the best materials.  Posts are 60 % pressure treated, laminated, pre-engineered, which means they will be straighter and stronger, and are resistant to twisting and warping.  All nailers are 2 by 6 and they use 2 by 8 or 2 by 10  rafters - trusses are seldom used.
  •
  • A consultation will consider site planning, (such as wind direction, slope), needs (what kind of animals will live there), style of roof (gable, gambrel, saltbox or monitor).
  •
  • SAFETY and convenience  is of prime importance:  swing-out doors in horse stalls allow owners to feed and water without entering.  Escape strings can be pulled to open Dutch doors for a quick exit.
  •
  • Only qualified and skilled craftsmen are used.   All employees are in apprenticeship programs or are graduates of it.  Craftsmanship is the motivator for these youths!

  • We offer a free barn building seminar every spring, call us for details!
